I just want to say good luck to Pat Phelan and the guys at Cubic Telcom. After we're in the same business "We deliver simple, high quality, high value telephone services direct to the devices that people like to use - their mobile phones. "
Moshe Maeir writes that this is not a cute workaround like our Rebtel service (http://flatplanetphone.com/wordpress/?p=299). Would like to here more about the thoughts on that. However, whatever the comment is we at Rebtel achieve the same thing "Use your cellphone like you always do, but pay less!". Sure, you need to the local number, but that's just and SMS away. Send e.g. "George Bush +12024561414" to +44 77 9780 0900. That's it and your on your way to tell the President what you want!
As Kevin Kelly writes in his blogg I agree that "It's remarkably interesting that Facebook applications are becoming parts of business strategies and it should be very fascinating to watch this story unfold." http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2007/08/17/seeing-value-in-facebook-applications/
I know that there are a lot of applications on Facebook that are only for fun and some have taken off rapidly. (I've got hook on a few myself!). Eventhough the current Rebtel application Reb Me (http://apps.facebook.com/myrebtel) does aim to be primarily fun the outcome of the application WILL be hysterically FUN for the ones that pay their own phone bills.
So for Rebtel (http://www.rebtel.com) it is important to be on Facebook as a business strategy BUT the intresting thing is that it also is a great business strategy for companies to use applications such as the Reb Me application.
