Shiv writes about the Rebtel like service that Jajah launched recently. Jajah has made a great effort in bringing cheap calling to the masses. Loads of people have signed up via Jajah and been able to call their loved once much cheaper than with the normal operator. The fact that Jajah now follows the Rebtel lead by offering local numbers, shows that the Rebtel way of calling is the right way to go. Rebtel offers local numbers in 40 countries for your contacts abroad, compared to Jajah’s 6 countries. The quality Rebtel provides is great and the prices are highly competitive. In fact they are some of the lowest on the market. Check out an independent service comparison made by Luca Filigheddu.
Luca Filigheddu has compared a number of services when it comes to setting up cheap international calls via local numbers. All companies offer great services but Rebtel comes on top as the best choice. Read it here.
I read the Savvy Boomer blog on Mobivox describing how to set it up and call etc. I have tried it out myself and I think the guys at Mobivox are doing a great job. Bringing cheap international calling to the world is important. However, even though I like the concept of the VoxGirl I haven’t really gotten tuned in to saying the name of the person to call. Maybe it’s my Swedish accent that complicates it.
Therefore I like the Rebtel set up better, where you can save the phone number to your friend in the phone and call as normal. It’s really easy to get started and use. Just send a text message with the name and number of the person you want to call to +44 7797 800 900 and you’ll receive the number back. Save it in your phone book and use it whenever you call that person. You can also get numbers at http://mobile.rebtel.com/
Don’t forget the Christmas offer from Rebtel. Make you first payment and get up to 20 USD!
